EHS Teacher at Camden

Location: Camden, Arkansas

Plan, prepare, and implement the day to day activities for an Early Head Start classroom of children ages birth to three. Administer developmental screenings; develop individual plans for children; conduct daily health inspections; assure that the physical environment is safe and conducive to learning and development. Feed and change children as needed. Maintain daily documentation and assessment of child’s development. Center Assistant

Location: El Dorado, Arkansas

Provide administrative and clerical support to the center Program Manager. Assist with managing the center’s daily activities in accordance with federal and state program regulations. Answer telephone, take messages, open incoming mail, prepare out-going mail, order and distribute supplies, assist with petty cash maintenance, greet staff, parents, and community members in a professional manner, perform a variety of clerical duties as directed, and perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor. Associate degree in Office Management or a related field preferred and two years of clerical experience. Must be computer proficient and have excellent written and oral communication skills. This is a 12-month position.

Assistant Director

Location: El Dorado, Arkansas

Assist in directing program services related to the implementation of Arkansas Better Chance, Early Head Start, and Head Start according to agency philosophy and goals based on Federal and State laws and Head Start Performance Standards. Provide oversight of program services of Child Development, Health, Special Services, and Family and Community Engagement, and provide direct supervision of staff responsible for these services. Assist in budget planning and reporting, and review and analyze monthly financial and statistical reports. Monitor agency’s progress in meeting goals and write grants for new and continuation grants. Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Social Services, Human Development or related field with a minimum of five years’ experience in the administration of early childhood education programs, fiscal management, and supervision of staff. Teaching experience preferred. Excellent oral, written and analytical skills required. This is a 12-month position

Early Head Start Family Advocate

Location: El Dorado, Arkansas

Serve as an advocate and liaison between family and community services and in collaboration with center staff, work to ensure children and families receive comprehensive services according to Head Start Performance Standards. Responsible for providing services to parents of Early Head Start children and expectant mothers. Complete the Family Assessment and develop a plan of action to meet family needs and goals, conduct a minimum of two home visits per year with each family, meet with expectant mothers weekly and conduct home visits after delivery to assist with the transition of the infant into the classroom setting, make referrals and schedule appointments for services, recruit new families for the program, ensure that children are up to date on all health-related issues, maintain child records, and submit reports as required. Qualifications: Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Family Services, Social Work, Psychology, Public Administration or a related field plus two years related experience in social services, family services or public administration preferred. Excellent oral, written, and computer skills required. This is a 12-month position.
